This policy explains what information ProteinAI collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built ProteinAI to track protein — not to sell your data.
ProteinAI is operated by Echo London (“we”, “us”, or “our”). If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@echo.london.
This Privacy Policy applies to the ProteinAI iOS app and this website. It does not cover third-party services you access through links in the app or on this site (such as Apple’s subscription management pages).
Depending on how you use ProteinAI, we may collect the following:
If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive an authentication token from Apple and create an account through our authentication provider (Supabase). We do not receive your Apple ID password. Apple may share your name and email address with us depending on your Sign in with Apple choices.
When you scan a meal, you provide a photo of your food. That image is sent to Google’s Gemini AI service to identify foods and estimate protein content. If you confirm and save a meal, we store the meal title, logged time, estimated protein, detected foods, and confidence score. If you are signed in, this data is stored in our cloud database (Supabase) and linked to your account. If you are not signed in, meal data may be stored locally on your device only.
We store settings you configure in the app, such as your daily protein goal, body weight, activity level, weight unit preference, onboarding status, notification preferences, and usage counters related to free scans. Most of this is stored locally on your device.
If you subscribe to ProteinAI Pro, payment is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide (such as your email address, message content, and any screenshots or device details you choose to share).
ProteinAI is focused on protein tracking only. We do not ask you to log calories, fat, carbs, location data, contacts, or health data from Apple Health unless you explicitly grant a future integration we describe separately in the app.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information.
ProteinAI relies on trusted service providers to operate:
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and only to the extent needed to provide their services to us.
Where applicable, we process personal data on the following bases:
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. Meal data for signed-in users is retained until you delete it or request account deletion. Support emails are retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable record-keeping. We may retain limited information where required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To delete your account and associated cloud data from within ProteinAI: open Profile, then tap Delete Account and confirm. You may also email hello@echo.london. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling email requests. You can also manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
ProteinAI is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
